Lesson time and grouping

Students are taught five lessons of History per fortnight. They are not set and are taught in mixed ability sets.

Homework

Homework is set once a week, lasting 45mins-1 hour. Homework is a variety of tasks from note-taking and comprehension to retrieval tasks and GCSE questions.

Assessment during the course

Students will sit formal History exams in the school exam fortnights for Year 10 (March/April) and Year 11 (December). In addition, there will be a variety of smaller formative tests and test questions when appropriate with knowledge content.
