‘When I first started TK, it was a bit of a shock. It felt strange, everything was different - having to call your teachers ‘sir’, for example, made it feel a bit more strict! However, everyone really helps you get into it, the teachers are really helpful, and everyone is kind and supportive. You make so many new friends at TK that after a couple of weeks it feels like you have been here for years! I have really enjoyed my journey at TK and hope that you have as much fun as I did!’

‘Starting at TK isn't that bad. In fact for me it was a great adventure! For those of you coming on your own I know how you feel because when I came to TK I came on my own. The best thing to do is not worry about a thing. You'll meet loads of cool people and teachers, I felt really welcome when I started. Mrs Burnside head of year 7 really makes you feel special and she will always help out if something's wrong. Another thing, don't worry about being put into tutor groups, you'll have a great tutor and loads of people you can make friends with. I made my best friend in my tutor group, so keep your cool even if someone dosen't look like they will be your friend you could be wrong. Travelling to school can be a bit strange but if you catch a bus it will soon feel like second nature. You won't even notice it after a few weeks, and it's a great time to talk to friends. Homework isn't all that bad as long as you get it in on in time, and try your best, and if you don't get it your teachers will always be willing to explain and help. There are loads and loads of amazing clubs to join like sports, art, drama, cooking and pet club (if you're into animals). You can become part of a council there are councils for ecology, the school and for sports - your views and points are really taken into account and listened to its great! It's really a great school, I'm so glad I came here, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it to!’

I have had the best of years anyone could have had. The teachers have been willing to teach us but also being fair. I hope the future will be as good as year 7. I hope the new year 7 has as good year as we did or even better. I am very glad I came to TK. Everything has been great. I hope for a better year next year.
